Andrea Rogers and Wendy Nelson on the Assembly budget proposal in Rochester D&C

The New York State budget is being finalized. While we wait for final bill language, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle looked at the Assembly's proposal and the damage it would do to charter schools.

The D&C included analysis from NECSN Interim NYS Director Andrea Rogers and Director of Data and Research Wendy Nelson. Andrea explained further:

"Our bottom line is the schools do the best job they can ... and the current law recognizes that. There are conversations to have about what some schools could be doing differently. But this proposal just shuts them down."
